2024 Declinations of the Sun, the Moon & the Planets | Parallels & Extremes

» Every parallel or contra-parallel is very important to the strength of a business chart. «
Kaye Shinker, 2006.

A parallel aspect is formed between two or more planets at the same declination or distance north or south of the ecliptic.
If the planets are both north or both south of the ecliptic, the Parallel Aspect is read as a Conjunction. If they are at the same declination but one is north and the other south of the ecliptic, then the Contra-Parallel Aspect is read as an Opposition. Parallel and contra-parallel aspects are strongest when the orb is small (±1 degree). They magnify other aspects between planets and nodes. The assumption is that extreme declinations - especially lunar ones - are intense energy points, and when reached, some sort of a perceptible short-term effect or reversal would manifest in daily and 4 Hour charts. The nature and magnitude of the effect is related to the market's  position/stage in the daily and weekly market maker cycles.

Planetary Harmonics | Larry Berg

» The heavenly motions are nothing but a continuous song for several voices, to be perceived by the intellect, not by the ear; a music which, through discordant tensions, through syncopations and cadenzas as it were, progresses toward certain predesigned six-voiced cadences, and thereby sets landmarks in the immeasureable flow of time. «

The Harmony of the WorldJohannes Kepler, 1619
» Planetary angles affect solar activity, which, in turn, affects the biosphere, which includes human physical and emotional well being. In terms of physics, my guess is that the cause is the gravitational effect of harmonic angles on the sun. After a high harmonic occurs, solar activity increases, increasing solar radiation. Solar radiation is responsible for ionization of Earth's upper atmosphere, causing geomagnetic and atmospheric changes, which, in turn, affect weather and the biosphere. «

» The fact that the sun affects weather, and that the weather affects biology, is fairly well established. There really is no doubt in my mind that we are affected, emotionally and hysically, by the weather and environmental radiations. There are many scientific studies showing this. Dr. Becker of New York is famous for his work showing how the human body's electrical field is altered by the natural cycles of Earth's magnetic field, causing changes in biorhythms. «

»
John Nelson took the electromagnetic approach, equating the solar system to a gigantic generator. He thought of the planets as magnets. The planets are, in fact, gigantic bar magnets, and they're moving. That's why the effect of the planets upon the sun is cyclical and not steady like a generator. That's what you'd expect. I tend to think that the cause is a combination of electromagnetism and gravitation. Einstein worked for half of his life on combining these two forces in his unified field theory. «

To calculate the Astro Method Indicator I first look up each planet's heliocentric longitude in the Astronomical Almanac published by the U.S. Naval Observatory. Then I subtract the lanets' longitudes from each other, plot those values on a chart, and connect the dots. Every combination of the nine planets makes 36 cycles. The value of these cycles ranges from 0° to 180° (two planets are never more than 180° apart). For example, if Jupiter's longitude were 120° on January 1 and Saturn's longitude were 140°, I'd enter a dot on a graph on January 1 at 20°. Then I'd do the same calculation for the next day, and the next day, and so on. Then I'd connect the dots to form that cycle line. I would do this for every other planetary relationship for as many days or years as I wish to calculate, depending upon the time frame I wished to study. «
» The Astro Indicator doesn't forecast turns in commodity prices very well. Those markets are more dependent on the actual supply and demand of the particular commodity, rather than on psychology. However, on a longer-term basis, I've studied the relationship between commodity prices and the solar cycle, and there's absolutely no question in my mind that commodity prices are dominated by the 11-year solar cycle. I've studied the correlation since 1873. Commodity prices peak at solar maximum and bottom at solar minimum. It's weather related. «

» The stock market is a barometer of mass psychology. If you really think about it, it boggles the mind. The stock market is a single place where millions of people go to play with their money. What better barometer of human mass psychology could there be than the stock market? The next time you read a stock market commentary, make an effort to filter out the psychological adjectives. Words like optimism, fear, and anxiety are everywhere. And the tides that move men are intractable. The Astro Indicator works, and it will always work. Because it's based on the inextricable link between Man and Nature. «

How to calculate the Astro IndicatorAll calculations and charting was done by hand when I first began my work.  I have since developed software spreadsheets using Excel which calculate BT automatically in seconds which previously took me several days to do by hand.

We'll go through every step here and do one week of the indicator.  You can, of course, do as much time at once as you want when you start doing it yourself.  However, we're dealing with lines here that have to be seen well, so the smaller the time scale the better.  The process will take some getting used to in the beginning.  Even with a computer to help in the calculations, it takes about an hour to do one month.  Once you get the hang of it though you should be able to do one year in about 2 days.  And of course you can go as far as you want into the future as you want, data availability permitting. The heliocentric ephemeris I use is the one published each year by the U.S. Naval Observatory called the Astronomical Almanac (called the American Ephemeris and Nautical Almanac prior to 1981).  Most university and public libraries should carry it in the government documents department.  There are sources for heliocentric data further out than one year, probably at a local astrology book store.  And there are many online sources for this data, some provided in the Links section.

Figuring the cycles: The first thing to do is get the Astronomical Almanac (for longitude data online visit: https://ssd.jpl.nasa.gov/tc.cgi#top.  Here, I'll do the time discussed previously--January 11 to January 17, 1973.  I always like to copy the pages I need rather than use the whole book.  It's much easier working with separate pages than a whole book, especially since you often have to shuffle from page to page.

The Julian Date is a scientific number denoting the date.  Latitude is not used.  Latitude refers to the degrees the planet is north or south of the solar equator. Radius Vector, Orbital Longitude, and Daily Motion are also not used.  We only use Longitude.

First we calculate and plot all the planet cycles except Mercury.  Mercury is done separately because it moves so fast and would cause chaos if we added it with all the other planets together.  Listed below are each of the planet cycle relationships we'll now calculate and plot.  I suggest scratching them off as they're done.  This is important so you don't forget what you've already done:

Venus-Earth       Earth-Mars       Mars-Jupiter      Jupiter-Saturn     Saturn-Uranus
Venus-Mars        Earth-Jupiter     Mars-Saturn     Jupiter-Uranus     Saturn-Neptune
Venus-Jupiter     Earth-Saturn     Mars-Uranus     Jupiter-Neptune  Saturn-Pluto
Venus-Saturn     Earth-Uranus     Mars-Neptune   Jupiter-Pluto
Venus-Uranus    Earth-Neptune   Mars-Pluto       Uranus-Neptune
Venus-Neptune   Earth-Pluto       Uranus-Pluto
Venus-Pluto       Neptune-Pluto

There are 28 cycles here.  Mercury will add another 8 making a total of 36 cycles in all.

First make a graph with the horizontal 'x' axis divided into six equal sections for Jan 11-17.  The vertical 'y' axis should be divided into 180 degrees with 180 at the top.  Graph paper should be used that has enough horizontal lines to represent each of the 180 degrees.  The paper should be large enough to be able to distinguish 180 vertical points, which might mean a sheet of a size substantially larger than 8 1/2 x 11.  The size depends on what kind of graph paper you find available.  However, the larger the better.  The larger it is the easier it will be to work with and see what you're doing.  You'll also need a mechanical pencil with thin lead, the thinner the better (I use .5mm) and a metal straight-edge.  Wooden rulers get dirty and their edge wears out.

Drawing the cycles: The difference between Venus and Earth longitudes (238.9 minus 110.6) is 128.3 degrees.  So on the graph we'll place a reference dot on Jan 11 at 128.3 degrees.  We do this calculation for each day for Venus-Earth and get seven dots.  Connect the dots.  That line is the cycle line representing the heliocentric longitudinal distance between Venus and Earth for the period.

This same process is then done for each of the remaining 27 planetary cycles listed above.  So next find the difference between Venus and Mars longitudes for each day.  Then plot those values on your chart and connect the dots. There are certain "rules of the road" to observe while doing the calculations:

If you subtract two of the longitudes of the planets and you get a number greater than 180, subtract that number from 360 to get the right number to plot.
If you subtract two of the longitudes of the planets and you get a number less than 0 but greater than -180, multiply that number by -1 to make it positive.
If you subtract two of the longitudes of the planets and you get a negative number less than 180, add 360 to get the right number to plot.
Simply put, the product of subtraction of two longitudes should always be between 0 and 180 for plotting.

Now Mercury has to be done, on a new graph.  The 8 cycles for Mercury are:

Mercury-Venus     Mercury-Jupiter     Mercury-Neptune
Mercury-Earth     Mercury-Saturn     Mercury-Pluto
Mercury-Mars     Mercury-Uranus

When the graph is finished you should have eight lines drawn.

Counting the Intersections: This is the fastest, simplest, and most rewarding part of the project.  As you count the intersections you'll start to see how planetary angle harmonics take form.  You'll now be, essentially, seeing into the future.  In front of you will be an indicator which will tell you when the coming weather and stock market reversals will occur, when hurricanes will be generated, when an El Nino will occur, when wars are likely.  You're now seeing the future tides of nature unfolding with cold scientific exactness, measurement, and calculation.  You're now doing what innumerable cultures have crudely been doing since man first walked the earth and attempted to measure time and the seasons.  I kinda laught to myself when I think 'what else did they have to do at night'?

This is the new Macro Astrology . . . the forecasting of weather and atmospheric system movements, times of geological disturbances, peculiarities of human and animal behavior, even times when viruses and bacteria are more active and abundant.  Down through time, astrologers have satisfied themselves with following only six, ten, or maybe twenty planetary alignments in their work.  Here you are looking at all possible planetary angle harmonics which is able to forecast the ebb and flow of all natural phenomena.

You've probably noticed by now that there are times in the charts when all the cycles converge at one time.  These are times of strong planetary harmonics.  What we simply do now is count the number of intersections between the lines that occur each day, that is, the number of times any two cycle lines cross during each day.  Make a simple bar chart, divided into each day, and add up the number of intersections occurring each day.

We'll start with the 28-cycle sheet.  On Jan 11 there was 1 intersection made.  So on your graph paper make a bar chart indicating 1 for Jan 11.  On Jan 12 there were 0 intersections, so leave Jan 12 blank on your bar chart.  On Jan 13 there were 0 intersections.  On Jan 14 there were 11 intersections, so put a bar line 11 high for Jan 14 on your bar chart.  On Jan 15 there was 1 intersection.  On Jan 16 there were 3 intersections.

You probably want to know how I counted the intersections when four cycle lines came together all at once on Jan 14.  There are "laws of intersection".  Two cycle lines coming together can only make one intersection, obviously.  Three cycle lines coming together make three intersections. However, four cycles coming together make six intersections and five cycles together make ten intersections.  So when four of the cycles came together on the 14th, six intersections were made.

Now we add the Mercury intersections to this bar chart.  Based on the 8 Mercury Cycles Graph, Jan 11 has one intersection and Jan 15 has one intersection.  Done.

This is the complete Astro Indicator Methodology.

The 4 Year Presidential Cycle | Carol S. Mull

The 3 1/3 - Year Kitchin Cycle
Within the average 11.094-year sunspot cycle, there are shorter periods of solar prominence which occur every 40 or 42 months. These were first recognized in 1923 by the American economist Joseph Kitchin. They account for trade fluctuations and have a marked effect on terrestrial weather, alternating between hot and dry to cold and wet. Articles in Cycles magazine proclaim a 40.68-month cycle, an example of which follows:

The Mars/Vesta Cycle (4.17 years)
The planet Mars and the asteroid Vesta have a synodic cycle period of 4.17 years. (Mars often serves as a trigger planet to aspects of the heavier business planets (Saturn, Uranus, and Jupiter); Vesta has consistently been found in a prominent position in the natal horoscopes of stock traders.) The Dow is likely to peak at the first square (90-degree angle from the conjunction) between Mars and Vesta and to bottom at the second trine aspect (240-degree angle from the conjunction). Based on this, you should have bought May 28, 1985, and sold on December 7, 1987. (Ed. Note: October 19, 1987 was Black Monday. December would have been too late in this case.)

The 4 1/2-Year Martian Cycle
According to Lt.Comdr. David Williams, author of Financial Astrology (American Federation of Astrologers), the Mars/Jupiter 4 1/2-year cycle is one of the most dependable market indicators. Mars and Jupiter are in conjunction or opposition every 2.2353 years. Thus, every other conjunction is 4.4706 years, or approximately 234 weeks. Thomas Rieder, author of Astrological Warnings & the Stock Market (Pagurian Press), ties the 4 1/2-year cycle to the synodic period of Mars, The synodic period of a planet is the length of time elapsing between two successive conjunctions of that planet with the Sun as seen from Earth. Mars conjoins the Sun at intervals of about two years and three months, so this cycle is just twice the synodic period of Mars.

 The 4-Year Presidential Cycle
The 3 1/3-, 4.17-, and 4 1/2-year cycles overlap and become what is sometimes referred to as the 4-year presidential cycle. It is theorized that the government stimulates the economy at election time to provide the illusion of prosperity and to insure the re-election of the President. However, closer analysis reveals that the cycle also exists in countries where elections are held every six or eight years or not at all.

Energy Flow Theory & Financial Markets | Al Larson

As planets orbit the sun, they exert tidal forces upon the gases of the sun. These tidal forces cause swirling motions on the sun, creating sun spots, solar flares, coronal holes, and other energy events. All these effects combine to vary the amount of radiation that leaves the sun. That solar radiation is our sole source of energy. We are subject to every fluctuation in it. Solar radiation travels to the earth in two ways: as direct radiation, such as sunshine and radio waves, and as charged particles carried by the solar wind. This flow of charged particles forms a torrent of energy that blasts earth creating a bow wave and a wake, just as a boat going upstream would do. This bow shockwave forms a magnetopause between the earth and the sun. It interacts with the earth’s electromagnetic field, shaping and adding energy to it. At the poles, charged particles follow the magnetic lines of force into our atmosphere. This creates a charged layer called the ionosphere.

As this solar wind passes earth, it shapes our magnetosphere into a teardrop shaped envelope of trapped charged particles. As solar radiation varies so does the earth’s magnetic field, atmospheric ionization, and temperature. Scientists have tracked down a host of relationships between these events and a variety of earthly phenomena such as weather, climate, crime rates, plant growth rates, frequency of thunder storms, blood Ph levels, psychiatric emergencies, and many others.

As part of this activity the solar wind charges our ionosphere to a voltage of approximately +300,000 volts. This charged layer above the earth represents the positive end of a battery. When you stand on the ground you are standing on the negative end of this battery. This is the earth’s electric field that we all live in. When you stand erect, it places a voltage on the top of your head of about 240 volts. That is the same voltage as used by your oven element. Fortunately for us, this is not a high current power source. Otherwise, we would fry.

We are affected by this field. This voltage causes currents to flow through us as we live on earth. These currents are approximately 2000 times as strong as the biological currents that run our brain, our nervous system, our muscles, and our organs. All of our body’s electro-chemical systems are subject to the fluctuations in these currents. The ionosphere and the charges on it form a very dynamic system. Events such as solar flares can cause rapid and large changes in this voltage. Our biological circuits feel these changes. These changes can affect all our biological processes including our emotional moods. Scientific studies have shown that changes in ionization cause people to feel giddy to gloomy. These moods show up in the markets. It is well accepted that markets move in response to fundamental forces and investor psychology. A major finding of my work is that investor psychology is driven by the physical energy system. Those emotional rallies and declines are controlled by the currents that run through us. We call those currents emotions.

[...] I have related the timing and price level of market turns to these currents. I have exhaustively verified every link in this chain of cause and effect. I have developed a solid mathematical knowledge of how this energy flow controls pattern, price, and time in markets. While it is not possible in a chaotic system to make perfect predictions, I have been able to formulate a computer program called XGO which predicts markets with between 60% and 90% accuracy […] This S&P forecast has been running about 80% accurate over the past two months. It was computed over one year ago, and used no price data! It is simply a computation of the energy coming into the S&P. These forecasts can be made for any market, for any time in the future. This is a unique scientific technology.

L.H. Weston - Gann’s Professor | Hans Hannula

I've been told that Gann was very private about his office. He absolutely forbid anyone from entering it. He wanted to protect his secrets. But one document he kept in his safe. That document was a manuscript by Professor Weston of Washington, D. C. It was written in 1921 (part 1) and 1923 (part 2), four to six years before Gann published his Tunnel Thru the Air, Or Looking Back From 1940, Tunnel Thru the Air contains, in coded form, Gann’s explanation of how to use planetary cycles to trade stocks and commodities.

He told his own family that it was all they ever needed to learn his market secrets. Many Gann students have labored very long and hard (yes, me, too) to decode Gann's writing. Gann loved to write in the abstract style of the Biblical mystics, whom he admired. Much of what is written in the Bible is information about planetary cycles. It is hidden in census counts, symbolic imagery, and heavily coded to escape notice of the casual reader. While one can dig out this material, it takes time, an ephemeris, and a lot of work. Gann had it much easier. What you are about to read is the paper Gann kept in his safe.

Take your time and read it carefully. It’s one of the best papers ever written on the market.
After you read it, I'll point out some interesting things about it.

[...] First, this is clearly the foundation of Gann’s use of the 10 year cycle, and its multiples. Second, this is historically a fairly early use of Fourier sequences, and far more mathematical than just using financial astrology. This is no surprise, since it is well known that Gann was a very good mathematician. It is also a source of many of his ideas that market movements follow geometric rules.

[...] It is also quite interesting that Weston actually proposed two different versions of the ten year pattern. The first is his computation, using 50 years of data, of a series composed of 20 , 28, 10, and 14 month components, to which he adds a Venus term. In this system he cites use of heliocentric positions. We'll call this first method "Weston’s Curve’.

A most interesting point made in this method is Weston’s discovery that the planetary cycles tend to slip to synchronize with the earth’s annual cycle. I discovered this in my own work, and was sure it was an original discovery. So much for that vanity!

The second method I call “Weston’s Snowflake.” In it he proposes a sequence of turning points in the Jupiter-Saturn cycle that divides it into 10 irregular parts. Interestingly, Weston claims that this is a geocentric system. We'll show in a moment that it was not. But this “false lead” may have been intended for those whom Weston feared would learn his secret. Gann obviously made good use of Weston’s methods.

[... Weston used] the 0, 18, 54, 90, 126, and 180 degree points of the Jupiter-Saturn cycle as turns. One can quickly see the problem with using this geocentrically. Almost all of the points are triple points, as the earth moves around the sun, giving multiple views from which to measure the angle between Jupiter and Saturn. The problem becomes one of which points to use.

[...] It took only one look at using this rule heliocentrically to convince me that Weston used it that way. Obviously, W. D. Gann watched these outer configurations to be alert for the deviations they might cause in the Jupiter-Saturn cycle. You are advised to do the same.

Financial Markets and Seasonal Geomagnetic Field Variation | Hans Hannula

Any grade-school pupil can tell you when the seasons begin. In the northern hemisphere, generally, spring begins March 21, while summer begins June 21. Autumn begins September 23, and winter begins December 21. Actual dates may vary by one day in a particular year. So step one is simple.

The physical reason behind the seasonal cycle is the tilt of the Earth's axis. The 23.5-degree tilt of the Earth's axis causes more direct heating of the northern hemisphere in the summer, when the Earth tilts toward the sun. It causes less heating in the winter, when the Earth tilts away from the sun. This change in heating and cooling causes the seasonal weather patterns that we are familiar with.

Charged particles from the sun form a teardrop-shaped envelope about the globe called the magnetosphere.

Not so well known is the effect of the seasonal variation on the Earth's geomagnetic field. As the sun emits energy, charged particles flow outward, carried by the solar wind. As these particles sweep past Earth, they form a teardrop-shaped envelope around the globe called the magnetosphere.

There is a seasonal variation in two important parts of the magnetosphere. When the Earth tilts toward the sun in the summer, the charged particles can more directly flow into the north pole, where they affect the Earth's magnetic field. This effect is lessened when the Earth tilts away from the sun in the winter.

The second magnetic effect is on the magneto-tail, that part of the magnetosphere which streams away from the sunny side of the Earth. As the Earth tilts toward the sun, this tail "rides higher." As the Earth tilts away from the sun, the tail "rides lower." This affects how our moon, which moves in and out of the magnetosphere, interacts with the Earth's magnetic field.

Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology (2023):
The Seasonal Distribution of Geomagnetic Disturbances.

So what does this have to do with stocks and commodities? Scientific evidence suggests that these fluctuations in the Earth's magnetic field affect humans. Studies show that magnetic field changes are linked to blood PH changes, which in turn cause mood swings. Perhaps the psychological mood swings of traders are also subject to these magnetic field changes.

More obviously, the seasonal cycle could be expected to affect crop prices, such as those of wheat, corn and other commodities. Similarly, with most businesses running on a quarterly profit cycle, seasonal variations in the buying and selling of materials and equipment can be expected. Thus, on both a fundamental and technical basis, a trader can expect season price variations in stocks and commodities.

To perform step 2, mark the dates of the cycle on a chart with solid dots, and place them above or below the price as you estimate that price is high or low relative to what it was approximately one-fourth cycle earlier. Points do not necessarily have to alternate between high and low.

Now look for cycle "inversions." If two lows or highs occur in succession, the cycle has "inverted" between the points. A normal inversion point is halfway through the cycle.

Year-End Rally, January Effect, and Trend for the Year Ahead | Jack Gillen

The Sun's position in relation to the stock market can show trends that are more or less active for each year, as the Sun degrees are generally fixed — they fall on about the same date every year. This is why some periods of the year reflect more of a pattern. This means that the Dow Jones Industrial Average will have similar to the same patterns at different sensitive points throughout each year.

New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) Natal Chart.

As an example, Iet’s take the natal chart of the NYSE and the U.S. chart. In the NYSE chart we find Venus, a prominent planet, along with Jupiter, relating to moves of success. The Sun is trine Venus at 5 degrees Taurus with the Sun at 5 degrees Virgo or 5 degrees Capricorn. This would relate to a sensitive point from the transit of the Sun to the NYSE chart.

But in the US chart we have Jupiter at 5 degrees Cancer (the opposition of Cancer is Capricorn) so the transit at 5 degrees Capricorn would affect the market during that orb which would last from 5 degrees through 9 degrees, a 4-degree orb. This orb is in effect around Christmas and has become known as the year-end rally. The percentages are thus strongly in the favor as far as the Dow Jones coming up on the plus side from Christmas Day to New Year's Day. This trend is more or less dominant year after year.

United States of America Natal Chart.

[...] Regarding the trend for the year, January can give a good indication because of the later degree sensitive points (Venus in Taurus, and Mars and Neptune in Virgo). This means that January can indicate what the eleven months ahead are going to be, bearish or bullish. Research reveals the success rate to be about 80 percent.

This does not work when there are crash periods, certain sensitive zones activated in panics and crashes. This will bring some turmoil, as will Saturn going through Capricorn, which also indicates delays. This is very helpful in determining what an individual stock will do, but there are three factors you need to learn in order to determine which stock to start with for the year. In most cases it’s better to buy a stock at the beginning of the year and ride with it because you can get a pretty good indication of the January influence.

Why is the January influence so important? Astrologically speaking, there is the trine aspect related to the year-end rally period. But it’s more than that. We have Venus at 5 degrees Taurus, Mercury at 23 degrees Taurus and the Sun at 27 degrees Taurus, and Mars at 18 degrees Virgo. These points are trine Capricorn. So January is important because there is a grand trine, a configuration that occurs when there arc three planets, each 120 degrees apart.

As the Sun leaves the 5 degree Capricorn point that relates to the short rally it moves on to a trine to the NYSE Mars at 18 degrees, the NYSE Mercury at 23 degrees and NYSE Sun at 27 degrees. So this is why January is important in anything related to the Dow Jones Industrial Average. The trine also occurs in the U.S. chart with Neptune at 24 degrees Virgo and the Part of Fortune at 25 degrees Taurus. But the opposition to planets in Cancer show a turning point: and Capricorn rules government. These influences can be seen from about January 9 through January 18, as the Sun transits the pertinent degrees. If the market shoots up in January, it will be up in December; if it’s low in January, then it's going to be low in December, at year's end.

The Moon-Stats | Jack Gillen

The moon by itself in any particular sign or eclipse doesn’t fit into the 70 - 100 percent accuracy but there are some patterns that do. They are the Mutable signs of Gemini, Pisces, Sagittarius, and Virgo. These are your four warning signs for the market to move to the down side, and the sign of Virgo is the most critical. The September 11, 2001, tragedy had the sun in Virgo and the moon in Gemini, as many tragic events and accidents will occur under this aspect. You can go back in history to a tragic weather event or to the death of a world leader, and you will find that the moon was in one of these Mutable signs, especially in the sign of Virgo with a Saturn-line.

Virgo to Pisces Moon Cycle 2019 - 2026
Go Long = Virgo to Pisces | Go Short = Pisces to Virgo

[...] There is a Moon statistic that falls into the 70 - 100 percent group but is closer to the 70 percent group, and that’s the Moon’s transit from Virgo to Pisces. Therefore, if you are looking to go long with a stock it’s best to start during this period [...] If you have a stock you want to short, your best chance would be from the sign of Pisces to Virgo. How you determine this would be from the tables of your exit date going long, and this would be the starting date for going short, and the starting date for going long would be the exit date on the short.

The Mercury-Stats | Jack Gillen

Mercury goes retrograde approximately three times a year and causes a state of confusion, and after it goes back direct the market can explode into a bear or bullish market.

Mercury Retrograde

[...] in those years when Mercury is retrograding there is an 85 percent chance that the DJIA price at the time it goes direct will be higher than when it was retrograding. The same is true when Mercury is retrograding in the sign of Capricorn, which holds the same accuracy rate as the ten-year cycle from 1885. In the Mercury retrograde period, those dates in bold print have a 70 - 80 percent accuracy of having a higher Dow Jones price at the end of the retrograde cycle.

There are only two statistics related to the Sun falling into the group of the 70 - 100 percent accuracy. They were both activated in the United States chart on July 4, 1776, and the natal Sun is at 13-degrees of Cancer. On July 5th of every year the Sun transits 13-degrees of Cancer. This cycle has an orb of 13 - 22 degrees of Cancer, and the transit dates would be from July 7 - 15 each year. The price of the Dow Jones Industrial Average will be higher on the 15th then on the 7th, and from the period of 1987 - 2001 this trend was 86.6 percent accurate with an overall percentage of 72.8.

The next statistic has been 80 percent accurate over the past 100 years, and is based on the two degrees of Venus in the United States chart to the opposition of Capricorn at two degrees, and is dominant from December 24th - 31st. This is a long position, therefore the DJIA will be higher on the 31st than on the 24th. Since the period of 1900 - 2000, this pattern has only been wrong 20 times and this was in 1911, 1925, 1926, 1930, 1937, 1943, 1947, 1948, 1953, 1966, 1968, 1978, 1979, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1992, 1996, and 1998. Therefore, going long on December 24th, I know that I have an 80 percent chance of being correct, that on December 31st the market will be higher at the close.

[...] The New York Stock Exchange was born on May 17, 1792, at 8:52 am in New York under the Sun sign of Taurus. None of the Zodiac signs which the Sun transits falls into the 70 - 100 percent accuracy rate. The two highest are Pisces from February 19 - March 19, having a 63.33 percent accuracy over the past 50 years, and Capricorn from December 22 - January 20, having a 60.27 percent accuracy rate. Let’s look at some of the averages for the other Sun signs: Aquarius, January 21 - February 18, 54.50 percent; Aries, March 20 - April 19, 58.50 percent; Taurus, April 20 - May 20, 50 percent; Gemini, May 21 - June 20, the chance that the DJIA will be higher on the June 20th than on the 21st is only 48.48 percent; Cancer, June 21 - July 21, has 51.20 percent; Leo, July 22 - August 22, only 46.60 percent the lowest of all the zodiac signs; Virgo, August 23 - September 22, it is 52.27 percent; Libra, September 23 - October 22, has 52.70 percent; Scorpio, October 23 - November 21, is 51.50 percent; Sagittarius, November 22 - December 21, is 57.25.

Sun Transit from November 17 to May 17

Although these Zodiac signs don’t qualify for the 70 - 100 percent accuracy rate it does create another pattern that fits into this 70 - 100 percent group, and this is called trading with the opposition aspect. The opposition of Taurus is Scorpio, and on November 17th every year this would represent the opposite date. Therefore, if you are trading on the long side at the closing price of November 17th to the closing price of May 17th, chances are that you are going to be correct. If you are trading on the short side, you might want to trade from the date of the NYSE on May 17th, and short to the closing of November 17th. The period of 1980 - 2001, you would have been 81.08 percent correct on the long side from November 17th - May 17th, as only four out of the last 22 years did the Dow Jones not show a profit.
